for this beautiful couple's engagement shoot, i knew i wanted to do something a little different. i had recently heard of an engagement shoot where the photographer followed the couple around on a typical day and let them be in charge of where to go, and i thought the idea was brilliant. erica and joe were nice enough to be my guinea pigs for this idea, and i think they were just as excited about it as i was! joe drove us around the city from spot to spot, with each location revealing significance and deeper meaning to their relationship. from the railroad tracks (where joe could relive his childhood fascination with trains) to the brick wall and ladder downtown (where a role switch up occurred and erica got to be the firefighter for the day...thanks for being such a trooper with these shots joe! ;) to the bar where they first met. As we were wrapping up the shoot, and talking about how much fun it had been to hit up so many spots around the city, joe made the perfect comparison...."It's like thrift-storing through the city!"
