brotherly love

blogger has decided that it doesn't want me to write an intro today, so here it is after the first picture. i was lucky enough to take pictures of one of my high school teacher's kids. it was so fun getting to catch up with her and getting to meet her little guys. they were both such sweet boys. the new little man was so cooperative and was just so precious. in between feedings/diaper change for him, i got to play with the next michael jordan. big brother has got some serious hoops! it was fun getting to photograph him in is element, with the trains and basketballs and of course his pup! hope you enjoy these pics as much as i do!

the next basketball star....seriously.

I think this last one might just be my favorite of the day. such a sweet moment!

sleeping little r

this sweet little guy was just as cute as could be. he slept the whole shoot and let us move him all around from the couch to the table and the steps without making a peep. i couldn't believe how cooperative he was!

he's a lucky little guy with two older brothers that just adore him!

youngest child syndrome

i am the youngest of four and to this day, i still give my mom a hard time about the fact that my oldest sister has oodles and oodles of baby pictures, meanwhile i have about...hmm, five, if i'm lucky. back in grade school it seemed like every year there was always a project that involved baby pictures. i'd come home from school and have to dig for hours to find some (while skipping past the pages full of my three older siblings) it was next to impossible. so i have now become an advocate speaking out against what i like to call "youngest child syndrome;" an incredibly common problem where the youngest child is neglected in the picture taking department. i have made it my mission to ensure that every youngest child i know has an equal amount of, if not more, pictures than their elder siblings. this was the case with this adorable little man. his mom came to me admitting that she had not had the time to get many pictures taken of him. so i stepped right in and got to work, taking endless amounts of pictures of him. which i might mention, was not hard to do at all, because who wouldn't just loveee to take pictures of these gorgeous eyes! he is so stinking cute! and his older sister is equally adorable, they are both such fun kids to shoot!

side note: it has been agreed upon by several people that this precious face very closely resembles the old man in the movie UP....so cute!!!

so sad this next one one is blurry...but i still think it is just the cutest picture ever!! love the tongue out pig tail look :]

and this is what happened every time we tried to get the two of them together...

still so cute though!

the big balloon

this little guy just turned two! it was my first birthday shoot...i'd been hoping i'd get the chance to do a birthday shoot for a long time because i have been just dying to try out this big silver balloon idea for as long as i can remember. there's a blog i follow where they use the big silver balloon for every birthday and i think it is just the cutest thing ever. unfortunately it was quite windy that day and the balloon was just set on being backwards for every picture...but they still turned out super cute! thanks b family...i hope it works out that you guys are in town once the new baby is born!

toughest shoot yet

ok, so normally i would never publically announce that a shoot was incredibly hard, let alone title it the toughest shoot, but this kid you see here is my brother and he was incredibly tough, so i'm giving myself the right to announce it right here and now.

if you know my brother even just the tiniest bit, i'm sure you know that he is one giant ball of GOOF. this was supposed to be a five minute "lets take a christmas card picture" kind of shoot that turned into an hour of trying to get the kid to look remotely normal standing next to his gorgeous fiance. he spent the time making oh so lovely faces, pretending to be a model, mimicking the "hand on hip, knee popped out" pose, and playing with sticks. awesome, right?

his punishment for this behavior..... another shoot! tas and i have a fabulous vintage inspired shoot planned for this spring and a whole four months to train toph in the meantime. i know he can't wait.... but assuming he behaves himself, it is going to be one awesome shoot! i cannot wait!!!

 this is his "model face"...

soooo obsessed with her gorgeous ring!

here's just a glimpse of the goofiness tas and i had to put up with:

loveland sweets.... :)
